Kyla Chaney, a Los Angeles native, holds a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Dance Choreography, with a minor in African American studies, from the University of California, Irvine. At the young age of four, she quickly found a love for dance, training in classical ballet in Torrance, CA. By the age of 14 her love expanded to all forms of dance and began training in other styles, alongside ballet. Her summers were spent training with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company, Anthony Burrell’s Breaking Barriers, and Kyle Abraham’s Abraham in Motion. Post graduation from UCI, Kyla Chaney embarked on a journey back to Los Angeles to become an industry professional dancer. Under the mentorship and guidance of Diana Matos’ MOTUS the company, Kolanie Marks, Antoine Troupe, Calvit Hodge and Sara Bivens, she has been able to fulfill her dreams of being in numerous music videos, touring, and performing on stages around the world. Chaney has performed with artists such as Tinashe, Ice Spice, Doechii, Camila Cabello, Tyga, and more; along with dancing on the Grammys stage, Dick Clark’s New Year's Rockin 'Eve, Coachella and BET Awards, to name a few. Follow alongside her journey via social media platforms because she’s only just begun, as she continues to train to expand her artistry as a performer, choreographer, and teacher, striving daily to reach goals beyond the norm.
